The Central Agricultural Broadcasting and Television School (CABTS) was
set up in 1980. With characteristics of cost-efficiency, great capacity
and vast covering area in rural areas, CABTS undertakes distance education
in agriculture, which is strongly supported by governments at all levels
and warmly received by farmers and grass-root cadres in rural areas. Through
the mission of orientation to rural areas, agriculture and farmers, our
School provides its education/training activities to the youth, grass roots
leaders,agricultural technicians,women,ethnic group and illiterate farmers
in rural areas.
Since the establishment of CABTS, a five-level education system has been
formed. Today, we are the biggest agricultural distance education school
in the world.
The variety of our educational offerings, provided through secondary
diploma education, post-secondary diploma education and cooperative higher
education, professional certificate education, “Green Certificate”education,
applicable agriculture technology training and rural laborers transfer
training. The teaching programs of the CABTS are delivered by radio, television
satellite system, Internet, VCD, loudspeaker, ambulatory caravan, printed
materials and audio-visual materials
In December 1999, we are mandated to run the "National Farmers’
Education and Training Center" by the Ministry of Agriculture which
has further strengthen the role of CABTS in farmer’s education..
In the new century, we will continue to bring its advantages of distance
education in agriculture into full play and speed up the adoption of modern
distance educational technologies. CABTS will strive for new achievements
in agricultural modernization.
